The sumptuous preparations for a wedding were taken at the village of Sade located in southern part of Lombok. A day before the main ceremony a group of Sasak singers, musicians and dancers played a long show and concert on a makeshift stage in the center of the village.

White Karen women from Mae Sariang.

I spent lovely days in Mae Sariang area. The Karen hilltribe people live in the lush, green hill country located 4 hours drive from the city of Chiang Mai.

The rain season has begun in Thailand. The Karen spend entire days working on the fields. During the day mostly old women sit on a porch their wooden houses. The time of festivals and holidays come in December.

Home made injera tastes deliciously.

Are you addicted to eat injera ?  When travelling in Ethiopia, I have to eat the spongy bread every morning and evening. Injera and fresh roasted coffee are the best. You get it even in the smallest village.

Ngada woman is waching me. Flores Island

The touristic circus crosses Flores has its beaten trail on the island. Bena – a traditional village of Ngada tribe belongs to the highlights of the trail. The residents of Bena have a similar fate like animals at a zoo. They are photographed by new groups of tourists every day. They don’t protest. Many foreigners buy cotton fabrics woven in the village.

I buy some shawls from the old woman. She gives me a present, one cotton scarf .
