View of Thaton and Kok river
Visibility in North Thailand is very limited during scorching April. Nearby hills surrounding Thaton lose their contours and further mountains disappear in summer haze.
Gili Trawangan and hills of Lombok island on the horizon
Gili Trawangan is my first destination for a short sea holidays. Ko Chang in Thailand is out of fashion.
Riding from Pai to Pang Mapha
The road 1095 in Northern Thailand is spectacular and famous for its many curves. There is 1,000 meters difference in elevation on 45 km stretch between Pai and Pang Mapha.
We reach a pass , the highest point of 1,431 meters above sea level on middle way. The temperature drops below 20 degrees C. October visibility is moderate. The surrounding dark blue mountain ranges extending into Burma hiding in the afternoon fog.
A beach in Vietnam
The picturesque beach in Qui Nhon, a town on the way between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
The yellow sandy beaches are almost deserted near the town.
A sailing basket waiting for a new survivor.
The most wanted color during holidays.
In dry part of eastern corner of paradise island the ocean is a magnet for each being looking for refreshment. I’m envy creatures living in this water environment and jump to ocean.
Landscape in North Thailand. Nan Province.
Moderate vegetation, shallow and rocky streams, peace and quiet surroundings. The sparsely populated area in Amphoe Mae Charim east of Nan town, near border with Laos.
Sunset over Mekong river in Luang Prabang.
I visit Luang Prabang many times. I come to this lovely town by plane, bus and boat. The river journey by boat is by far the greatest. Take your time and travel 2 days from Thai border to Luang Prabang by a local barge called in Laos the slow boat.
Pai – a gateway to hill tribes’ villages.
Small town of Pai located 3 hours drive from Chiang Mai is the ideal starting point of mountain hiking. The numerous villages of Lisu, Hmong and Karen are in the area around Pai.
